There are some research done to estimate the carbon footprint impact of different dishwashing techniques.
Both hand wash and using a dishwasher has been researched. The result was that using a electric dishwasher is more efficient regarding carbon footprint emissions. Nevertheless, in order to ensure that the surface and print of some of our products lasts as long as possible, Carl Oscar recommends washing them by hand.

How to wash our products by hand
Put large food residues in a waste bin and soak dried-on or burnt-in food in water, adding a small splash of washing-up liquid.
Do not rinse the dishes under running water. Collect dishes for washing and clean them with hot water in a half-filled sink. Fill the basin with water and add washing-up liquid according to dosage instructions. All caps can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
Wash the dishes with a dish brush or sponge.
Use a straw brush to clean the inside of the straw.
When rinsing the dishes, fill a basin half-full with water. Do not rinse in running water.
Let the dishes air dry or drain before drying with a drying cloth. Change dish cloth, drying cloth and dish sponge no later than one week after first use. Let dry and wash them at 60°C, using a bleach-containing detergent.
